2025 Kings Cup Club Championships

Wrap-up

The 2025 Kings Cup Club Championships took over Palm Beach Aquatic Centre on June 28–29, delivering two days of action-packed underwater hockey across A, B, C, and Women’s grades. Hosted by Sydney Kings UWH in partnership with Gold Coast UWH, it brought together clubs from all over the country to battle it out for bragging rights.

This tournament is specifically for club teams, allowing clubs to compete against each other competitively.

What's new?

This year marked the first-ever Women’s Grade at the Kings Cup and it didn’t disappoint. Teams combined to fill vacant spots, bringing a collaborative spirit and fierce competition. The result was fast-paced, high-skill hockey that showed just how strong and quickly women’s UWH is growing. A historic milestone for the tournament.

Results

With 76 games across two courts, the action never stopped. Highlights included:

  • Grizzlies From Hell racking up big wins, including a 6–0 shutout against Wonthaggi Sharks.
  • GC (Gold Coast) putting up a flawless Day 1.
  • Maribyrnong Mako’s dominating with clean wins on Day 2.

Final Results

After a full weekend of intense competition, the Kings Cup Finals did not disappoint. Four divisions, four champions — here's how it ended:

  • WOMEN’S: 🐟 Gold Coast defeated Woll-oomba 4–0 in a dominant performance to take out the inaugural women’s title.
  • A GRADE: 🟦 Sydney A edged out Sunshine Coast Sea Dragons 2–1 in a tight, tactical match.
  • B GRADE: 💪 Wonthaggi Warriors shut out Wollongong Gladiators 2–0, showcasing defensive strength and clean finishing.
  • C GRADE:Maribyrnong Mako’s came out on top 4–1 over Gold Coast C, finishing the tournament with flair.
